Commissioner Tony Peraica released the following statement today regarding the racist, threatening message left on Commissioner Deborah Sims’ voicemail:

“The racist threats made against Commissioner Sims were disgusting and beyond the pale. As someone who has been the target of threats in the past, including an attempted drive-by shooting of my house earlier this year, I stand by Commissioner Sims in condemning this racist and cowardly act. We can have honest policy differences without resorting to threats and violence. Whoever threatened her went over the line and should be held to account.”
