CHICAGO, IL — Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica held a press conference this morning to discuss what he perceives as gross inequity in the county’s property tax assessment system.

CHICAGO, IL – Not one to give up easily, Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica (R-16) will reintroduce his ordinance to repeal the full sales tax hike passed last year. His ordinance will be introduced at today’s Cook County Board meeting.

The UIC Flame today highlighted Commissioner Peraica’s recent lecture to the school’s students as part of the “Future of Chicago” lecture series.

Commissioner Peraica has sent a letter to Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez asking for her to initiate quo warranto proceedings against Todd Stroger over his illegal and unilateral hiring of the hiring of Mayer Brown, LLP to defend the administration in an ongoing investigation to its handling of county finances.

The Cook County Board has approved an ordinance that reinforces the ban on video gambling in unincorporated Cook County.
